Copyright:

Copyright is no laughing matter. Digital media has created lots of challenges to the copyright law - when you copy something digitally, it can be reproduced without degradation. As a web publisher, you are responsible for being aware of copyright laws and following them. Every time you put something on the web, you have published it. If you aren't absolutely sure you have rights to a work, do not put it on the web.

Remember that others can steal your work. Copyright is there to protect you as well as to protect those that make a living off of their intellectual property.
