Electronic Text Center (ETC) -
The ETC houses an outstanding collection of electronic texts and linguistic corpora and provides assistance in scanning images and converting texts into digital formats. In addition, users can create and manipulate electronic texts with either Mac or PC software. Contact the ETC at cbearden@rice.edu.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)/Data Center (GDC) -
The GDC provides access to GIS software, supporting hardware, data resources, and print and digital map resources. This may be a valuable resource to you if you have data which can be displayed spatially or are interested in finding out what types of digital data are available for your area of interest. The Advisory Group on Computer Graphics Index by Subject -
The Advisory Group on Computer Graphics Index by Subject provides an alphabetic list of technological topics that pertain to educational technology design and use. Included are plenty of Case Studies and lots of practicle knowledge.

Tutorial: Liquid Web Design -

Web Resources - Pedagogy

Asynchronous Learning Networks -
"ALN combines self-study with substantial, rapid, asynchronous interactivity with others. In ALN learners use computer and communications technologies to work with remote learning resources, including coaches and other learners, but without the requirement to be online at the same time. The most common ALN communication tool is the World Wide Web." Look for the link under "Publications" to the JALN, a journal dedicated to introducing technology enhanced teaching methods.

Power and Pedagogy: Transforming Education through Information Technology -
A book by Robbie McClintock of The Institute for Learning Technologies which they have made available on-line. "Educators inspired by visions of human potentiality need instruments of action, substantial agents of change, with which to work. Technologists creating new means for bringing intelligence to bear upon the work of the world need a civic agenda, a vision of historic possibility, consciously espoused and responsibly defended."
